Metallic leather or Metallised leather is leather with a metallic look. Metallic effects are almost only found in smooth leather. Porsche had metal effects in the car. Also, old American had more frequent metallic leathers. In leather shoes, clothing and bags, metal effects often appear for fashion reasons.

Leather with a bright metal look
There are leathers that have a look like a bare metal. Such optics are achieved by applying a foil with metallic optics to a smooth leather. For this purpose, thin layers are applied, which look like a polished metal surface. Such leathers are usually found in fashion objects like shoes, bags, etc.
During the coating, a fold was folded in. Metallic sheets on leather are very thin.

Leather with a metallic effect
Some leather only has a metal effect. On these leathers, there is a basic colour without metal effect, which is then applied to a top coat (clear lacquer) with a metallic effect. Such leathers then only shimmer metallic. Usually, such leather is also found in the shoe, bag or clothing area. But car leathers also occasionally have metallic effects.
