What is "Artico leather - Man-made leather"?

Mercedes has found a new word creation for their imitation leather. "Artico leather - Man-made leather". Presumably, the word artificial leather is too negative. The link between marketing and understandable and comprehensible customer advice and clear norms for material declarations seems to be spanned.

This material description does not appear to be in compliance with Europe standards. The norms clearly stipulate, that the term leather can only be used when genuine leather is processed. The endeavour of suppliers of artificial leather to describe their material as close as possible to leather has never been stronger.

The cleaning and care of Artico does not differ from other artificial leather.
