Disturbing creaking and squeaking sounds
Examination the appearance of disturbing noises, it is checked if the leather generates creaking noises during friction movements. Such noises arise not only in leather but in many materials such as rubber, plastics or imitation leather. Also when such materials are in rubbing contact with each other.
Creaking noise appears, when superimposed layers are alternately adhered to one another within a short time and are then released again. This is dependent on the structure of the abutting surfaces. Even surfaces with microscopic unevenness, can stick togehter under pressure in such a way that perceptible creasing or squeaking sound is produced, depending on the frequency of the alternating sticking and loosening. Influencing factors: Contact pressure, temperature, surface soiling, humidity and material fatigue.
In a vehicle creaking noises can occur everywhere.
An often used measuring method is the "Slip-Stick-Test": Under standardized contact pressure a material sample is rubbed onto a material sample. Sensors measure the extent of the sticking friction by means of the delay in the acceleration.
"Antifriction Coatings"
Antifriction coatings are coatings that are designed to reduce or minimize friction on surfaces. Duty of the coating is to eliminate noises by reducing the friction by filling the microscopic irregularities of the surfaces, which favor the crease effect. Lubricating lacquers are applied as thin, almost invisible films.
For the elimination of disturbing noise, antifriction coatings are used in the car industry and the furniture industry. But there is also an assortment of products for end users. Disturbing noises don't only occure in cars. Even in today's widespread functional furniture with many adjustment possibilities, undesirable noise noises occur.
The use of Antifriction Coatings.
