Cowhide
Cowhide is the natural skin of a cow with hair. The leather from it can be used for shoes, wallets, leather jackets, furniture and car leather and belts. Most cow leather is without hair, but it can also be processed into leather with fur (Hair-on Leather).

The process of tanning leather with hair is called "hair on" tanned.
Rawhide comes with hair to the tannery.
Swirl in the fur of the living skin. - Swirl in tanned cowhide.
There are many kinds of cattle and therefore it is common to see fur in many colours. The skin under the hair is however always bright.
Irrespective of the hair colour, the cow skin has no colour when it's in the tannery. - The bluish colour is a result of chrome tanning.

Hair-on cowhide can be designed in a variety of ways. The fur can be dyed, a pattern can be lasered onto it and it can be printed. All methods can also be combined.
