Leather straps

Leather straps are used as jewellery or as driving belts. Leather straps are either cut as a snail from an animal skin from outside to the centre or cut into strips along a straight line. The round cutting gives a very long strap. Leather straps are therefore also sold in length. Cut with a simple knife the straps have an angular shape. With special machines, the square edges of the straps are rounded and are then round straps.

Due to its longevity, leather is also historically a popular material to produce straps and belts. Apart from the robustness, the low tendency to electrostatic charge is also of importance.
