Thick leather is leather with a thickness of more than 1.4 millimeters. Normal upholstery leather generally has a thickness of only 0.9 to 1.2 millimeters. An exact determination of the thickness of thick leather is not possible, as the thicknesses of leather varys up to 20 percent due to the heterogeneous skin texture.
