Pangolin leather
From www.leather-dictionary.com - The Leather Dictionary
The pangolin has a body covering of large, overlapping, horny scales. Pangolins are found in Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa. The species is protected and the trade of pangolin products is prohibited. Hunting is the main reason for the declining numbers. They are mainly hunted for their meat, not the leather.
Pangolin leather is processed to handbags, purses, shoes and belts.
